Govt will continue with path breaking programmes for inclusive

: Lt Governor of Puducherry Lt General (retired) A K Singh today said the government would remain steadfast in its commitment to the cause of the downtrodden and backward classes.
In his message on the eve of the 69th Independence Day, he said that the government would 'continue with its path breaking programmes for inclusive development'.
Extending his felicitations to the people,he said he would only assure the people hat the government was committed to improve their lives by ushering in 'people centric schemes and focussing on good governance'.
Singh, who is also Lt Governor of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and is holding the post here under additional charge since July 17 last year, said government is focussing on skill development, infrastructure development and creation of investment -friendly climate to place Puducherry on the path of progress .

Chief Minister N.Rangasamy in his message said at just as India was standing on par with advanced nations Puducherry also stands high above other states in many features. Progress in education and health sectors by implementing various policies has been among the salient features, he said
Rangasamy said that it was his firm commitment that the needs and requirements of the people, particularly the downtrodden, should be identified and appropriate schemes formulated to ameliorate the have-nots, the aged, destitute women, weaker sections of society and Adi Dravidars.
He appealed to the people to continue their cooperation and support his government so that there would be many more schemes for their betterment.

AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy, BJP Puducherry unit president M Visweswaran MLA and a host of leaders also greeted people on the occasion.
