Union Minister Piyush Goyal has assured a delegation of United Planters' Association of Southern India that he would look into its various demands, including restricting pepper imports only through designated ports.
Goyal also assured the delegation that he would revisit the Standard Input Output norms on Natural Rubber imports, based on the proper assessment on the actual input use requirements, an UPASI release said.
The issue of outstanding incentives for orthodox tea production and extending the scheme for further period will also be looked into, according to the release.
The delegation was led UPASI president AL RM Nagappan.
The UPASI members met Goyal along with Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on December 9 at Delhi, the release said.
