Gram, kabli gram climb Rs 500 per qtl on tight stocks

Prices of gram and kabli gram spurted by up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on speculative buying triggered by paucity of ready stocks in the market against rising demand from retailers.
Traders said speculative buying, driven by tight stocks position in the market on restricted supplies from producing regions against rising demand from retailers mainly pushed up gram and kabli gram prices.
They said, however, government's measures to curb rising prices capped the rise.
In the national capital, gram, gram dal local and best quality zoomed by Rs 500 each to Rs 8,900-9,400, Rs 9,100-9,300 and Rs 9,400-9,500 per quintal, respectively.
Kabuli gram small variety was also seen in demand and shot up to Rs 10,000-10,500 from previous level of Rs 9,900-10,100 per quintal.
Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 3,900 instead of Rs 3,700 per 35 kg bag.
Masoor small and bold too rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,300-6,600 and Rs 6,350-6,650 per quintal. Its dal local and best enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,800-7,300 and Rs 6,900-7,400 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small Rs 6,300-6,600, bold Rs 6,350-6,650, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,800-7,300, best quality Rs 6,900-7,400, Malka local Rs 7,300-7,600, best Rs 7,400-7,700, Moth Rs 5,500-5,900, Arhar Rs 8,850, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,600-13,300.
Gram Rs 8,900-9,400, Gram dal (local) Rs 9,100-9,300, best quality Rs 9,400-9,500, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,900,Rajdhani Rs 3,900, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,700-6,950, Kabuli Gram small Rs 10,000-10,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 3,800-3,825 and green Rs 4,000-4,100.
