The players, who arrive from Chennai this evening, will be taken tomorrow morning in a procession with the IPL trophy from Hazra crossing in South Kolkata to Writers Building, a distance of six kilometres, where the chief minister would greet them, accompanied by team owner Shah Rukh Khan.

The chief minister told reporters that the players would be taken on a trailer of a vehicle accompanied by thousands of KKR fans.

Banerjee, who has already congratulated KKR for their scintillating five-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in a thriller last night, said that the team would be given a civic reception by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

The team members would be treated to speciality sweet 'nakur cake sandesh' by the chief minister at her chamber.

Asked what would be presented to the team, Banerjee replied, "We are a poor state. What can we give but love and good wishes."

Thereafter the CM, SRK and the team would leave for the Eden Garden to attend a 45-minute reception ceremony.

Bangla bands, Bhoomi, Chandrabindu and Dohar would be in attendance, who will belt out 'chak de' songs, she said.

The programme, where celebrities from the cine world will also be present, would be open to all.
