The event would witness a plethora of activities to showcase GSI's inherent capabilities, new initiatives and Research and Development (R&D) services in an open forum.
The GSI, conceived in 1836, to identify Coal Resources for steam navigation and railways, was established in 1851 by Sir Thomas Oldham and currently has 36 establishments in the country.
Incidentally, GSI is the world's second oldest geo-scientific organisation with the strength of more than 12,000 employees including over 4,000 Group A scientists and technologists and around 3,500 in the Group B scientist category.
