The board, in its order issued today, asked the shack owner to stop the operations with immediate effect.
The National Green Tribunal at Pune had asked the GSPCB to reconsider the consent given to the shack to operate after social activist Kashinath Shetye had filed a petition against it.
"The consent to operate the order dated March 3, 2016 issued by the Board to Curlies Restaurant and Bar located at Anjuna shall be revoked forthwith," the order issued by GSPCB official Dr Mohan Girap said.
"The NOC was dating back to the year 2014-15, while the consent to operate was sought for the year 2016 onwards," the board sources stated.
Curlies, a popular tourist joint in Anjuna, was in the news after the owner Edwin Nunes was arrested on August 16 this year by police under Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
