Guj assembly polls to decide the 2019 LS poll result: Vaghela

Senior Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela today said the Gujarat assembly polls, to be held later this year, would decide the fate of 2019 general elections in the country.
While talking to reporters at Gandhinagar today, the leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly said the people of Gujarat are now in a position to decide which party would come to power at the Centre after two years.
"Gujarat will decide the destiny of entire nation in 2019. The people of Gujarat are very smart. The results of 2017 assembly polls are in their hands. I believe whoever is elected to power here, will form the government at the Centre in 2019," said Vaghela.

During the extended executive meet on May 10 here, senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel also echoed similar views, holding the Gujarat election to be "very crucial" for the country.
During that meet, newly appointed Gujarat Congress in- charge Ashok Gehlot urged party cadres to pull their socks to capture Gujarat, where the party is out of power for last 22 years.
