Three members of an extended family were killed and five others injured in the wee hours on Sunday when their van collided with a truck near Kapadvanj in Kheda district of Gujarat, police said.
The deceased are identified as Madhuben Parmar (45), Pashiben Parmar (42), and Rakesh Parmar (21), an official said.
The victims, who hailed from Ankalai village in Kapadvanj taluka, were on their way to attend last rites of a relative when the accident occurred, he said.
The driver of the truck is on the run, he added.
