The closure report, filed before another court after the Supreme Court-appointed SIT probed the complaint of Zakia Jafri, widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, gives clean chit to Narendra Modi (then the Chief Minister) and others with regard to the 2002 riots in Gujarat.
Judge P B Desai today directed SIT to provide around 1,200 documents regarding the four officers from the report to Gulberg Society riot victims' lawyer S M Vora.
The court is hearing final arguments in the case. Special Prosecutor of SIT R C Kodekar today summed up the testimonies of three witnesses -- Sikandar Syed, Fakir Mohammad and his son Ejaz Ali.
He submitted that these witnesses spoke about seeing Ehsan Jafri being dragged out by the mob, and also identified six of the total of 66 accused.
