Haryana government today decided to waive stamp duty on transfer of immovable properties among the blood relations within a family to reduce property disputes.
The decision in this regard was taken by the Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here.
"The decision will help reduce disputes over property," Hooda told reporters.
The decision comes in the wake of the observation that the stamp duty leviable on the transfer of immovable property within family and among blood relations parents, siblings, children and grand children and between spouses leads to disputes and litigation among family members, an official release said.
As a result of the decision, one spouse would be able to transfer immovable property to the other spouse to safeguard his or her interest and charging of stamp duty would not pose any hindrance in transfer of property, it said.
The Cabinet also decided to waive mortgage deeds for securing bank loan up to Rs 5 lakh executed by Self Help Groups (SHGs) from payment of stamp duty.
Hooda also announced that Haryana government would adopt the same regularisation policy of 2011 as adopted by the Punjab government for the regularisation of employees, the statement said.
The policy would be applicable with effect from May 28, 2014, it said.
Earlier in the Cabinet meeting, the approval to the proposal regarding amendment in the regularisation policies dated July 29, 2011 for group B, C and D employees or workers was approved, Hooda said.
He said the left over group C and D employees working on adhoc, contract, daily wages or work charged who could not be regularised under the regularisation policy due to administrative reasons but were otherwise eligible, be regularised with effect from the date(s) they were eligible for regularisation.
The regularisation policy of Punjab government dated March 18, 2011 for group B, C and D employees or workers who have completed three years service on contract basis engaged by government or approved agency of the state government as on May 28, 2014 would be adopted by the Haryana government, it said.
