"The work on KMP Expressway will start soon as the project will be given to another company for completion," Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here today.
Launched with much fanfare in year 2006, the ambitious Rs 1,900 crore KMP expressway projectwas to be commissioned by July 2009. So far, 68 per cent work on this project has been completed.
The concessionaire, a consortium of DS Constructions and Apollo Enterprises, could not complete the project within stipulated time despite being given several deadlines.
The KMP Expressway starts from the NH 1 near Kundli (Sonepat) and joins Delhi-Faridabad-Agra NH 2 near Palwal.
Meanwhile, Khattar said his government had, during the last 100 days, delivered good governance and graft-free system and taken conscious and concrete steps to reform the structure to bring it in tune with the aspirations of the people.
Speaking to media persons here, the Chief Minister said, "We shall answer the expectations of the people who have given us a positive mandate. But at the same time, the government will not spare anyone who had misused the public exchequer," he said.
Similarly, CM web portal has also been launched to apprise people about government schemes on which they could provide suggestions to the government.
The Chief Minister said the state government has decided to enact a law for cow protection and preservation. With a view to promote cow rearing, the government has decided to give 50 per cent subsidy for setting up such mini dairies in the state, he said.
The survey of 200 kilometre Yamuna Expressway along with Western Yamuna canal would be carried out, he said.
Detailing about Excise and Taxation collection, he said additional revenue of Rs 400 crore had been generated during last 100 days as compared to the collection made in the corresponding period of last year.
A scheme is being launched under which three highest tax payers from each district would be honoured.
