State Health Minister Anil Vij said here today that all births and deaths occurring after April 15 would be recorded on computers.
He said the Health Department has brought all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the state online and to facilitate uninterrupted service, internet facility and as many as 485 laptops are being provided to the CSCs.
"The service will be provided by the PHCs located in respective jurisdiction. The IT Department has developed software called BDIMS which registrars and information assistants will be able to access through unique user name and password," he said.
CSCs are being set up on a large scale all over the state where any person could get birth and death certificate within seven days of filing the application, he said.
Vij said that birth certificate would have to be issued within seven days if the birth is registered within 30 days of the birth.
The birth certificate would be issued within 15 days if birth is registered between 31 days and one year of birth; and within 60 days if registered after a year of the birth.
The death certificate would be issued in 60 days if registered after one year of the event, he said.
In order to ensure authenticity of the particulars mentioned in the certificate, facility will be offered to verify them online using the verification website link printed on the certificate, Vij said.
For convenience, smart phone or tablet-based verification, a QR code (Quick Response Code) is also printed on the certificate giving the verification link.
