Three separate charge sheets were filed today in three courts against Trinamool Congress Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal and former district president of BJP Dudhkumar Mondal for their alleged hate speeches.
Anubrata Mondal had in his speech at Panrui on July 17, 2014, allegedly instigated party workers to hurl bombs at the police.
A complaint was lodged against Dudhkumar Mondal by a local TMC leader of Rajnagar for his alleged hate speech delivered on September 24, 2014.
An officer of the Panrui police station submitted the charge sheet before the court of Indranil Chatterjee, CJM, Suri, in connection with Anubrata's "hate" speech.
Another officer of Rajnagar police station submitted the charge sheet in connection with the "hate" speech delivered by Dudhkumar Mondal in the court of ACJM, Debkumar Goswami.
The court ordered Anubrata Mondal to be present on July 7 and Dudhkumar Mondal on August 24 for further hearing.
A second charge sheet against Dudhkumar Mondal was submitted at the ACJM court, Rampurhat today and the court ordered Mondal to appear before it on August 14.
On December 25, 2014, Dudhkumar had delivered a speech at a meeting of party workers, where he allegedly threatened to chop the wrists of opposition party workers. The Rampurhat Police had lodged a suo-motu case against him.
Ranjit Ganguly, public prosecutor of Birbhum district court, said "the final charge sheets in both the cases have been submitted to the concerned courts and the courts have accepted them and have ordered Anubrata Mondal and Dudhkumar Mondal to be present on the scheduled dates."
Commenting on the issue, Anubrata Mondal said "I have not yet received the copy of the order. I can comment on this only after receiving it."
Dudhkumar Mondal said "I have already apologised in public for what I said and following the orders I will appear before the courts at Suri and Rampurhat on the scheduled dates. I respect the judiciary and I have no intention to challenge it.
