The Sunday episode saw the demise of a fan-favourite character while also revealing the mystery behind his name but some fans got a chance to watch the show early on the HBO Nordic platform "temporarily due to a technical issue", a network spokesperson told Variety.
Before the episode could be taken down, the 'GoT' fans ripped the episode and posted it online.
"Game of Thrones" is one of the most popular and pirated shows on the internet.
TorrentFreak reported that the copies of the episode were widely circulated on torrent and steaming sites before HBO could take down links to the pirated copies.
"The Door", fifth episode in the season six of the show, revealed Hodor's heroic destiny and fans learned the tragic reason why the gentle giant could only say one word, "Hodor."
Actor Kristian Nairn played Hodor on the show.
The latest episode also saw the death of the Bran's direwolf Summer.
