HC asks govts, agencies about number of health centres

The Delhi High Court today asked the Centre, AAP government and other agencies about the number of hospitals, health centres including Mohalla Clinics they have for the people of the national capital.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar also sought to know from the authorities about the geographical location of the health check-up centres in the city.
It asked the authorities to place the details before the next date of hearing on February 26 next year.
The court issued the direction while hearing a plea by Arunima Gupta and Manish Gupta, who have sought its intervention for upgradation of health check-up facility and Mohalla Clinics, set up in all parts of the city to provide adequate health facility to the people.

The plea also sought to upgrade the operation facilities and the various tests including blood tests at these centres.
It sought direction to provided immunisation facilities to pregnant women, lactating mothers and newborn infants in the health care services provided by Mohalla Clinics in Delhi.
The plea sought to "avoid duplication of human resources as staff of primary health centres are allegedly deployed at Mohalla Clinics hampering the work at primary health centres.
