The Himachal Pradesh High Court Wednesday directed the state principal secretary (education) to be present in the court and inform it about the steps taken by the state government for filling up the vacant posts in the Education Department.
The high court also directed him to file a personal affidavit responding to the issues raised by an amicus curiae.
The amicus curiae has raised the issues regarding failure of the state government in filling up vacancies in schools, implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act and compliance of the orders passed by the Supreme Court and the high court.
The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Sandeep Sharma passed these orders on a petition taken up suo motu by the high court
