Rejecting the bail application of Piyush Shyamdasani, Justice Vijay Lakshmi directed thetrial court to complete the trial in the three-year-old murder case of the accused's wife, Jyoti, within eight months.
Known as the "biscuit baron", Shyamdasani had claimed in his bail application that he was "falsely implicated" in the July, 2014 murder case of his wife.
He also alleged that he was dragged out of his car by a group of bikers, while he was travelling with his wife, and that they drove away with the vehicle, which was recovered a few days later with Jyoti's body inside.
However, it was alleged by Jyoti's family members that she was killed by Shyamdasani, who was "involved in an extra- marital affair", and that she was eliminated so that he could marry his paramour.
