Passing orders on a writ appeal filed by the college, the bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Kumar Agrawal and Justice M Sathyanarayanan set aside the order of the Board of Governors of MCI, New Delhi, which resolved to disapprove the admission of third batch of 150 MBBS students for 2013-14 in the college located at T Nagar.
The college was granted permission by MCI on June 30, 2011, to admit the students of first batch for 2011-12. On July 5, 2011, provisional affiliation for 2011-12 was granted.
The MCI made a surprise inspection on March 12 this year and having found some deficiencies issued a show cause notice. The college stated that the deficiencies pointed out were complied with.
Despite this, MCI resolved to disapprove the admission of 150 students admitted in MBBS course for 2013-14. The college challenged this by filing a plea which was dismissed following which the present writ appeal was filed.
