Heat conditions intensify in Odisha

Heat conditions intensified across Odisha today with with the mercury soaring above 40 degree Celsius in at least 10 places in the state.

The state capital Bhubaneswar turned out to be the hottest place in the state recording 41.2 degree Celsius, the Meteorological Centre here said.

As the entire western Odisha sizzled under gruelling heat, both Balangir and Titlagarh both recorded maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius, followed by 40.6 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda, Hirakud and Talcher, it said.

The mercury touched 40.4 degree Celsius at Chandbali, while the temperature stood at 40.3 degree Celsius in Angul, 40.2 degree Celsius in Malkangiri and 40 degree Celsius in Sambalpur, the MeT office said.

Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the state for next three days, it said.
