Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over the weekend.
The daily weather report said Assam and Meghalaya, which are bearing the brunt of floods triggered by incessant showers over the last few days, will receive more rains tomorrow.
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Goa, Karnataka, Nagaland, Odisha, Gujarat and Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Back-to-back rains in the national capital have led to a drop in the maximum temperature. It had a high of 37 degrees Celsius and a low of 26.6 degrees Celsius.
Traces of rainfall was recorded in some areas of the city. The weatherman has predicted thundery conditions tomorrow.
Overnight showers kept the maximum temperature within comfortable levels in most parts of Bihar. A number of places recorded the mercury between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius.
The number of flood-affected people has crossed the 82,000 mark in Assam. The deluge triggered by incessant rains has submerged larged swathes of land in Lakhimpur, Darrang, Udalguri and Karimganj districts.
Authorities are running 256 relief camps and distribution points, where over 500 people have taken shelter.
The maximum temperature in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, which received rains over the last two- three days, was recorded below the season's average at most of the places.
Most of northwest India has already received more than average rainfall due to good pre-monsoon activity.
