Heat wave condition in western Odisha abates

The long spell of heat wave condition across the western region of Odisha began abating today.
The heat wave condition in coastal and southern region has already subsided due to rainfall and it was now the turn of the western region, a senior Met official said.
The places which recorded the temperatures over 40 degrees were Titlagrh (42), Bolangir (41.8) and Bhawanipatna (41.5). Jharsuguda recorded 40.8 degrees C, Sambalpur 40.4 degrees C and Hirakud degrees 40.1 C.
The maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar was recorded at 39.1 degrees Celsius with 95 per cent humidity, while Cuttack recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius.
The death toll due to sunstroke in the state remained at 20, the special relief commissioner's office said.
