Heatwave grips Guj, Surendranagar hottest at 44.8 degree C

Most parts of Gujarat continued to reel under heat today, with many cities recording daytime temperature in the range of 41 to 45 degrees Celsius.
Heatwave prevailed in many parts of Saurashtra as well as central and northern parts of the state.
Surendranagar city in northern Gujarat recorded today's highest temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius, the Met Centre here said.
It was followed by Rajkot (44.3), Amreli (43.8), Ahmedabad (43.3), Gandhinagar (43), Deesa (43), Vadodara (42.2) and Bhuj (41.7).
The heat wave would persist for the next couple of days, Met officials said.
