Heavy security up ahead of swearing-in ceremony

A multi-tier security has been put in place in the city for tomorrow's swearing-in-ceremony of the Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed led BJP-PDP government and the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Massive Security arrangement has been made in and around Jammu city for the swearing-in-ceremony and Prime Minister's visit tomorrow", Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Uttam Chand said.
The swearing-in-ceremony will be held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium of Jammu University tomorrow. The venue has been made out of bounds for the public and sanitation operation with metal detectors and sniffer dogs have been launched.
A SPG team is already in Jammu for the function.
A meeting was held by the Chief Secretary today to review the measures, Shant Manu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Division said.
In Jammu city, over 200 to 300 Municipal workers have been deputed to clean various areas of the city, particularly areas in and around Jammu University.
79-year-old Sayeed will take oath as the state's Chief Minister along with 12 members each from PDP and BJP at Jammu at a ceremony to be attended by Modi. BJP's Nirmal Singh is expected to be the Deputy Chief Minister.
The two parties held intense negotiations since December when the election verdict resulted in a hung Assembly, to put together the coalition on the basis of Common Minimum Programme (CMP) which will be released tomorrow.
The CMP will cover all controversial issues like Article 370, Armed Forces Special Powers Act and resettlement of West Pakistan Refugees.
