Heroin worth Rs 6.50 lakh seized, one person arrested

Officials of the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department seized heroin worth Rs 6.50 lakh from Mualkawi hamlet in Champhai district and arrested one person, a department spokesman today said.
The spokesman said that officials seized the contraband weighing 172 grams yesterday night. It was suspected to have been trafficked from neighbouring Myanmar.
One person was arrested for allegedly possessing the contraband, the spokesman added.
