Homage paid to Gandhi on his 66th death anniversary

: Lt Governor Virendra Kataria, accompanied by Chief Minister N Rangasamy, today paid homage at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi here on the occasion of his 66th death anniversary.
Speaker V.Sabapathy, Ministers, legislators and officials of various departments were among those who paid homage at the statue.
A team of teachers of government sponsored Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam sang devotional songs. A two minute silence was observed at the venue.
Puducherry PCC leader A V Subramanian led party workers and functionaries to pay tributes at the portrait of the Mahatma at the party office and observed a few minutes of Silence. The leaders later garlanded Gandhi's statue on beach road.
