In the wake of acute power crisis in Delhi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today spoke to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and asked him to take immediate steps for early resolution of the problem.
"Spoke to Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Shri Najeeb Jung regarding an early resolution of the current power crisis," Singh wrote microblogging site Twitter.
The national capital is reeling under long spells of outages in the midst of searing heat.
The LG is the administrative head of the Delhi government as the national capital is now under President's rule.
Jung today had a meeting with Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and senior executives of Delhi Transco, Power Grid Corporation and power utilities.
Goyal later said it will take 15 days to restore normal power supply even as temporary measures to boost generation were put in place.
The Centre has also drawn up an action plan to ease the power crisis in the city with short-term measures to generate 400 megawatts of additional power by tonight.
The Centre has offered its assistance to Delhi government and its utilities to restore power transmission systems in mission mode.
