Hry BPL families to get gas connections by Oct 2: Minister

All the work related to issuing gas connections to BPL families in the state would be completed by October 2 this year, Haryana Minister Karan Dev Kamboj today said.

For this purpose, special camps will be organised at different places, the Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs added.

Kamboj presided over the meeting with all District Food Supplies Controllers (DFSCs) through video conferencing and directed them to prepare a timetable in consultation with oil companies to ensure that the connections are provided on time.

Apart from this, one lakh BPL cards were also being prepared for such families, he said.

The minister further asked the DFSCs to make sure that all depot holders distribute this month's ration by August 15 and personally check the depots to avoid any kind of irregularity.

For this, he also directed the monitoring committees constituted at district, block, village and ward level to remain active and to monitor the Public Distribution System (PDS).
