"Indian badminton is growing by leaps and bounds, we have the India Super Series next week, then the Thomas and Cup Cup in May. Also there is Commonwealth Games in Scotland and then the second edition of IBL will be held in September," Das Gupta said.
BAI General Secretary, Vijay Sinha said: "The final decision will be taken within a week after a meeting with the IBL governing council."
"It is a hectic year with Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, so we are trying to schedule it after the Asian Games," he told PTI.
Talking about India's chances in India Super Series, Das Gupta said: "Our Indian players have been playing tournaments around the world and have been very successful.
"Players like P V Sindhu, P Kashyap and K Shrikant, who are present here, have excelled in major events and I am confident that they will do well in this tournament," he said.
