"Until eighth standard, I did not even appear in the top five, but in the ninth standard, I stood first in the school. Thereafter, I started getting good marks," said Muskan, a student of Hutchings School, Pune.
Muskan, a swimmer and a badminton player said she wants to choose a career in medicine.
Her father Abdullah is a software engineer and mother Shakira a doctor.
Muskan and Bengaluru's Ashwin Rao have scored 99.4 per cent to top the ICSE Class X exam.
