The 71-year-old "Padosan" actress revealed that Lean was thinking of making "Taj Mahal" with Kumar and Taylor as the lead pair, but things did not work out.
"David Lean (director) wanted him to work in 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Then I got to know they wanted to make 'Taj Mahal' with Elizabeth Taylor and him. Imagine... Dilip sahab and Elizabeth. God! If the two would have worked then what would have happened to me. There would be no chances of me," Bano told reporters here.
Dilip Kumar had turned down the lead role in David Lean's "Lawrence of Arabia", which then went to Egyptian actor Omar Sharif.
