The two-day-long programme, launched today, will focus on the dynamics of the buildings in order to understand their behavioural patterns during an earthquake.
Director of the IIT Jodhpur, CVR Murty, said the programme would lay emphasis on what actually happens during an earthquake and how the architectural choices affect the seismic behaviour of a structure.
Enhancing the technical skill of engineers, Murty said, this program will help in understanding the latest technology that could be adopted for earthquake-resistant construction.
"There is very little knowledge or expertise about anti-seismic technology in construction in the country and with a view to address this, we have come up with this programme with an objective to help engineers with required knowledge about seismic behaviour of the buildings," Murty said.
