IL&FS Eng Services bags Rs 236.76cr contract from JBVNL

IL&FS Engineering Services today said it has bagged contracts worth Rs 236.76 crore from Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam (JBVNL) for urban electrification works in the state.
The company has received two Letters of Intents (LoIs) from JBVNL under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for urban electrification works of Dhanbad and Dumka-Sahibganj electric supply circles, a company statement said.

Siemens India today inaugurated its showcase digitalised low-voltage switchgear factory which can manufacture over five million devices annually at Kalwa in Thane district
"With the launch of the showcase digitalised factory in India, we further deepen our ties with a country in which we have a very strong presence," Siemens AG CEO - Control Products, Digital Factory Karlheinz Kaul said in a statement.
He also said the SIRIUS range of switchgear products that will be manufactured here requires a very high degree of precision and quality at global standards that can be achieved only through digitalisation.

Shantha Biotechnics, the Hyderabad-based affiliate of Sanofi Pasteur (the vaccines division of Sanofi), today said it has delivered 10 million doses of its cholera vaccine, Shanchol.
The vaccine received the World Health Organization (WHO) pre-qualification in 2011 and since then, the product has been shipped to 25 countries across the world.
"We estimate that the 10 million doses of Shanchol could potentially have saved close to five million people - especially those living in high-risk, endemic areas - from cholera," Sanofi India Managing Director Shailesh Ayyangar said.

Toshiba Johnson Elevators (India) today said it has appointed Junichi Kyushima as its Managing Director with effect from tomorrow.
Kyushima, currently the Vice President of Toshiba Elevator and Building Systems Corporation, was earlier the Managing Director Toshiba Johnson Elevators (India) from 2012 through 2015.
"With his abundant experience in both strategic global business operations and specialised experience in the Indian market, he will play a key role in strategic efforts to grow the company into a major player in India's elevator/escalator business," the company said in a statement.
