allegedly illegally mined sand was seized by revenue officials at Seethanagaram in East Godavari district today.
The sleuths seized 957 cubic meters of sand which was dumped at Inagantivaripeta ramp, in the evening, a release said.
A team led by tehsildar A. Srinivas, with the support of police, seized the sand on input that illegal mining was going on in this area for the last few days and many tractors and lorries were plying illegally, even damaging the Godavari bund.
The sand was piled in 12 different places for transportation, the release said.
