The event, themed 'Himalayan Tourism: Infusing Skills for Growth and Disaster Mitigation', will held on September 23 and 24 here.
The conference will explore means of involving local population in these hills, especially youth, to set up a framework of ever preparedness to mitigate disaster and for their economic empowerment through skill development in adventure sports.
"India with its unique natural resource has always been an attraction of adventure lovers from across the world. We are calling for expert participation from several countries to share respective experience of socio-economic development through adventure sports in the higher mountainous regions," Hony Secretary-IMF, Wg Cdr Amit Chowdhury said.
