India Cements Q1 net profit at Rs 40 cr

The firm had posted a net loss at Rs 2.96 cr in corresponding quarter of the previous financial year

Cement manufacturer India Cements Ltd posted Rs 40.10 crore net profits for first quarter of the current fiscal ended June 30, 2015.

The Chennai-based company had registered net loss at Rs 2.96 crore in corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, India Cements Ltd said in a BSE filing.

For the financial year ending March 31, 2015 net profits of the company were at Rs 29.45 crore.

Total income from operations for the April-June 2015 quarter slipped to Rs 1,075.45 crore from Rs 1,234.82 crore registered during year ago period.

For the 12 month period ending March 31, 2015 total income from operations were at Rs 4,453.85 crore.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 83.20 a scrip, down by 0.42 per cent, on BSE.
