Finest home decor items, architectural models, top-notch brand collections by Indian and international design luminaries are on display at the the second edition of 'India Design ID 2014' which begins here today.
The three-day event provides a promising platform to establish India on the global design map.
"I am looking forward to see the creations of Indian designers here. I think this kind of interactions between Indian and International design visionaries are important," Jurgen Mayer, one of the international design gurus said.
High end design brands, architects, real estate giants and interior designers are exhibiting their products and creations.
"Interior designing is my passion. I am doing this for the past 15 years. India Design provides a great platform to showcase all my works. We participated last year too," said Sussanne Roshan, interior designer and estranged wife of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan.
Roshan has set up her design store 'The Charcoal Project', which has a wide spectrum of decor products that range from French antique furniture to home accessories.
The event will also see a symposium where design pundits will share their knowledge and expertise with the audience.
International stalwarts like Jonathan Adler, Rosita Missoni will be speaking along with their Indian counterparts such as Abhishek Lodha, Kishore Biyani and others.
"I am in this profession for the past 60 years but never got bored of it. Here I am looking forward to something which will inspire my work. Ideas can come from everywhere," said Missoni, a veteran in the design world.
The design week will also serve as a networking forum for the design fraternity, architects and real estate developers to know the role and use of design as a tool to transform their approach to related businesses.
The event will also offer a segment called the 'ID Satellite- Style and the City' to discover design districts in the capital with promotions, collaborations and events through week long festivities at design districts like Lado Sarai, Meherchand Market and Shahpur Jat.
Over 65 participating venues will feature design-linked activities across lifestyle stores, malls, bookshops, galleries with new launches, collections and other special events.
