Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence and Emergencies Vladimir Puchkov signed a regulation defining the structure, functions and procedure of the Joint Commission which has been established by a pact signed in 2010 in the field of disaster management.
Shinde is currently here leading a high-level Indian delegation on a bilateral visit.
The agreement will enable both the countries to help each other in the field of prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergency situations, an official release said, adding , it will further strengthen and enhance Indo-Russian cooperation.
The meetings of the commission will be alternatively held in India and Russia.
