Dikki Romy Singh and his driver Alden Teves were shot at by two men when they stopped at a store in Bacolod City to collect payment yesterday, senior police official Edgar Gulmatico said today.
Teves, who sustained wounds on his neck and back, died immediately while Singh, who had four gunshot wounds, passed away during treatment, the Sun Star reported.
Gulmatico said that based on the records of a police station, the slain Indian national has a debt with his fellow Indian national. However, they are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive.
Police recovered from the scene of the crime six spent shells of .45caliber, an XRM Honda motorcycle, a cellular phone, and an ice pick.
Last week, an Indian businessman was shot dead and another wounded by unidentified gunmen while they were collecting payments from clients.
Navjot Singh (26) and his associate Lakhwinder Singh (33) - both residents of Naga City - were shot at on January 6 when they had gone to a rural area of Calabanga town to collect loan payments.
