Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, Flag Officer Commanding-in- Chief, Western Naval Command was the chief guest at symposium held at INS Dronacharya - the Navy's 'Center for Excellence in Gunnery and Missile Warfare' - at Fort Kochi.
The governing theme of the symposium was 'Emerging Trends in Naval Gunnery'.
"Several papers were presented by distinguished speakers during the daylong event. Modern trends in the fields of Anti Ship Missile technology, Naval Weapon Systems, magazine design, space-based weapon technology and missile inventory management techniques were some of the topics discussed during the day long activity," Navy said in a release here.
The event holds a special significance for all Gunnery Officers as it is traditionally held at INS Dronacharya, the primary training base for 'Gunnery specialization in the navy'.
