Indian, Nigerian businessmen jointly builds hospital in Lagos

An ultra modern hospital built with over USD 122 million through the collaboration of some Indian and Nigerian businessmen has been inaugurated in Lagos by the country's health minister.
Vedic Lifecare Clinic hospital was developed by Indo-Nigeria businessmen with clinical, technological and management support from Manipal Hospital.
"Perhaps in the next five years we will see people coming into Nigeria for medical treatment. By establishing this family oriented health care facility you have contributed in no small measure to accessibility and affordability of health care delivery in Nigeria," Health minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu said, during the occasion attended by the deputy governor of Lagos and some senators.

Also speaking, the MD/CEO of Manipal Health Enterprise, Rajen Padulone, said: "With this new venture we would look forward to take international standard of medical service to Nigeria which has been suffering from serious disease outbreaks. From clinical brilliance to care with compassion, we will cover the entire spectrum of healthcare service in the country."
Medical tourism is common among Nigerians who make India their major destination due to low cost and efficacy.
Manipal Hospitals is one of the hospitals visited by citizens of the oil rich African country in India.
The founders of Vedic Lifecare Clinic promised to reduce this trend and also be the best hospital in Nigeria.
