'Indian players will make presence felt in world football'

Indian players would soon make their presence felt prominently in world football as they have upped their skills through leagues like Indian Soccer League and also the zest and enthusiasm shown by youth towards the game.
"World football will soon witness the prominent presence of Indian players and this is evident from the zest and enthusiasm of the youth towards the game of football," said Rene Meulensteen, Head Coach of Kerala Blasters.
Speaking to reporters after discussions on the coming ISL, he said leagues like ISL had already found ground globally.
"Indian footballers have already upped their skills and talent with the huge exposure on international techniques these tournaments have given them with playing with International players," he said.

Meulensteen said Kerala Blasters had strengthened their game and techniques in the last season and added that the fan base and their excitement that he witnessed for the team here was almost similar to what he had seen in Manchester, which came as a pleasant surprise to him
CEO of Kerala Blasters Varun Tripuraneni, who was present with Technical Director Tangboi Singto, said the team had been able to get some good players for this season.

Moreover, the return of Iain Hume to the team along with presence of star players C K Vineeth and Sandesh Jhingan has added a lot of excitement among fans, he said.

"In the coming days our focus is to work on our team's strengths and strategise to showcase them to play exceptionally well in all matches at the ISL', he said.
Rene Meulensteen has spent stints in various coaching capacities at Manchester United under the reign of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
He was team coach at United from 2007 onward, playing an integral role in the 'Red Devils' winning three premier league titles and a Champions League title in 2008.
After his stint at United, he had short spells at Anzhi Makhachkala, Fulham and Maccabi Haifa, a release said here.
