Frequent agitations in Nepal seem to deter foreign tourists, particularly Indians, with a significant drop reported in their numbers who travel to the Himalayan nation by air.
The number of Indians visiting Nepal by air has dropped by 25 per cent in April to 12,069 from 16,159 during the same period last year, according to figures released by Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
The decline in Indian visitors may attributed to frequent agitation by political parties and unfavourable weather condition in the month of April.
