Indraneil as channel reporter in Prime Time

Essaying a channel reporter's role in upcoming Prime Time, actor Indraneil Sengupta says it is not based on any real life journo he has met here or in Mumbai.
"Prime time is not based on the real life story of a TV journalist. The plot is more weaved around the scramble for TRP in the electronic media," the 'Autograph' actor told PTI here.
"In Prime Time both me and Paoli (Dam) feature as crime reporters who work as a team. We both are given deadlines and assignments. This happens to be my first role as a journalist and never felt I was working under a rookie director. The situations seemed real but my references mostly based on instincts," Indraneil said.

Indraneil, who recalled having worked under Kaushik Ganguly's direction to share frame with Rituparno Ghosh in 'Arekti Premer Galpo', said "I was given break by big time directors like Kaushikda and Buddhadev Dasgupta when I was a newcomer.
"So it is imperative for us, senior actors, to work with debutant or new film makers," he said.
Prime Time, an Adaptation of journalist-editor Rupak Saha's 'Ghatak' novel, is a thriller-drama by the producers of blockbuster Dadar Kirti, made four decades back.
"It doesn't matter which genre the earlier film belonged to. It doesn't matter why they came up with no films in the intervening years. It is important the directors get to work and tinker with varied contents for the sake of industry," the film's maker Ipsita Seal said.
