Industrial oils ease on thin trade

Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial prices eased in an otherwise sluggish oil and oilseeds market here today due to lack of demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.
Meanwhile, groundnutoil, refined palmolein and linseed oil ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.
In the futures, castorseeds for September delivery declined owing to speculative selling amid reduced export enquiries.
In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold fell by Rs 35 per 100kg to Rs 3,515 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,550 and castoroil commercial moved down by Rs 7 per 10kg to Rs 733 as against Rs 740 previously. Linseed were unaltered at Rs 735 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures, castorseed for September contract opened higher at Rs 3,670, but later drifted to Rs 3,620, before closing at Rs 3,630 from Rs 3,661 last weekend, showing a loss of Rs 31 per tonne.
Moving to edible section, groundnut oil and refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 990 per 10kg and Rs 540 per 10kg respectively.
