In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold surged by Rs 150 per 100kg to Rs 3,775 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,625, Castoroil commercial also climbed by Rs 30 per 10kg to Rs 785 from Rs 755 yesterday. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 820 per 10kg.
Turning to futures, castorseed December contract opened lower at Rs 4,015 and moved-up to Rs 4,038 before drifting to settle at Rs 3,882 from Rs 4,030 previously, showing a net loss of Rs 148 per tonne.
