Industries, banks take up Swachh Bharat campaign in TN

Financial institutions and other industries across Tamil Nadu conducted the Central Government's ambitious "Swachh Bharat" campaign today by taking up the pledge and by cleaning their premises.
Top officials of city-based Indian Bank and Indian Overseas Bank and their employees participated in the campaign, a press release said.
Indian Bank Executive Director B Rajkumar administered the pledge to all the employees who participated in large numbers while Executive Director M K Jain inaugurated the cleaning campaign in and around the campus, it said.
At the Indian Overseas Bank Central office here, Executive Director A D M Chavali administered the pledge.
Employees of Indian Oil Corporation at its regional office here participated in the cleanliness drive at its premises. Six time tennis National champion Rushmi Chakravarthi participated in the cleanliness drive, a release from Indian Oil Corporation said.
The Corporation has rolled out cleanliness drive across its 40,000 customer touch points, including 24,000 fuel outlets and 7,000 Indane LPG cooking gas distributors, it said.
At the Airport here, members of Airport Authority of India participated in the cleanliness drive while include a tree plantation programme, a statement said.
Airport Director K Suresh, who inspected all departments, said the campaign should be taken up as an ongoing process and all AAI offices should be cleaned regularly, it said.
