Issuing show-cause notices to the VC and the Joint Registrar, Justice Suresh Kait in an order said "prima facie it appears that the respondent/contemnors have violated the order of August 7. Notice issued to the contemnors/respondents as to why they be not punished for the contempt of court. Reply thereto shall be filed by them within one week from today."
Arguing for the petitioner, counsel R K Sain said that after obtaining the August 7 order, Kumar had approached the university for 2nd counselling (which was scheduled for the same day) and had requested the officials to allow him to participate.
"The officers of the university did not allow him to participate in the counselling but told him that they will first constitute a committee in this regard and only thereafter decide what is to be done regarding the order of this court....," the lawyer said.
