Judicial Magistrate Raviranjan granted bail to Sahu, presently Sheikhpur district superintendent of police, on bond and sureties of Rs 7,000 each.

The woman IPS officer had issued a cheque for Rs five lakh to the managing director of a real estate firm on December 30, 2011 for purchase of a flat a year ago.

The cheque had subsequently bounced due to paucity of funds in her account and the person had lodged a case under sections of IPC and sections of the Negotiable Instruments Act on July 30, 2012 against her.
