IT stocks fell up to 3 per cent on Friday amid reports of changes in the US work visa requirements aimed at protecting American workers.
Infosys shares declined 2.89 per cent, TCS 2.20 per cent, Hexaware Technologies 1.84 per cent and HCL Technologies 1.82 per cent on the BSE.
The scrip of Wipro dipped 1.78 per cent and Tech Mahindra 1.62 per cent.
The BSE Information Technology index closed 2.21 per cent lower at 14,869.88.
Infosys and TCS were the top loser among the BSE 30-share Sensex components.
