About 5,000 delegates are expected to take part in an international event on information technology to be held here in the third week of February.
The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) will be held in India for the first time, said C P Gurnani, CEO and Managing Director, Tech Mahindra, here today.
He said "2018 marks not only the debut of WCIT in India, but the first time we are holding an event of NILFs ( Nasscom India Leadership Forum) global scale in Hyderabad.
"After hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (later this month), we are excited to encourage Hyderabad's forward-looking policies and its position as an emerging Silicon Valley of India by bringing NILF -WCIT to the city."
Gurnani, a former chairman of Nasscom, was speaking at a press conference here.
As part of its "Amplify Digital Series", the Nasscom today hosted a core committee meeting here comprising industry leaders of Indian IT.
"With WCIT's core committee in attendance, the discussion gave an insight into the agenda and priorities of the IT congress, which will be co-hosted as a mega event with the Nasscom India Leadership Forum (NILF)," a press release from the industry body said.
About 5,000 delegates are likely to take part in the mega event, it added.
